Have you worked with teenagers in Secondary schools, PRUs or Colleges? The Learning Mentor Job An Alternative Provision Centre in Croydon, are looking for a Learning Mentor to start after half term. This is a a long term, full time position and will run for the remainder of the academic year. You will be working with young people across KS3 and KS4. The Learning Mentor Skills This Alternative Provision or PRU are looking for a passionate and experienced Learning Mentor who has a good understanding of young people's needs. You will be working in the secondary team supporting pupils on a 1:1 or classroom basis with their motivation and learning. You will have the opportunity to assist these students in activities that will further their independence and help them reintegrate back into mainstream school. The School This Croydon based SEN school has recently joined a new academy in the last year There are five campuses across Croydon that specialise in dealing with young people who cannot be in mainstream school for various reasons On site parking is plentiful and you are able to drive into the school. It is also located within walking distance from East Croydon and West Croydon train stations Support form a multi professional team and team of experts who focus on the whole well-being of the young personThe Ideal Learning Mentor Applicant: Strong behaviour management Experience being a Learning Mentor is desirable but not essential Have a passion for teaching students who struggle with mainstream school Experience teaching within an alternative provisions environment or a secondary school environment A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner.
