Open Source Build Engineer

Global technology company in Edinburgh is looking to hire an experienced Open Source Build Engineer as they continue to expand their use of Open Source engineering.This team works across the organisation to provide tools and infrastructure to streamline the development, release, and deployment of software. This is a key role as they are looking for this individual to bring Open Source expertise to the team.The role will involve:Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD toolingCreating automation frameworks for Open Source build tools such as gcc and OpenOCDCreating and managing workflows for CI/CD pipelinesSupport teams in creating or migrating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.Create docker images and write shared libraries that allow developers to easily create CI/CD pipelines.Key skills/experience required:Experience of building Open Source tooling, infrastructure, DevOpsExcellent knowledge in CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions and Jenkins PipelinesDeep knowledge of Typescript and PythonFamiliarity with Open Source tools and contributions to the open-source community (Zephyr and/or embedded Linux preferred)Experience of working in an embedded software environment, or for providing tools for embedded software engineering.You will be taking a key role in working on greenfield open source build projects, often creating new build, infrastructure and devops tools from the ground up.This is a hybrid role role - requiring 3 days per week in their Edinburgh office.If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Matt Andrews at IC Resources.
