About the role: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours to join our inclusive and welcoming school community in Hackney. As an SEN TA specialising in challenging behaviours, you will play a key role in supporting children who may find it difficult to engage in traditional classroom settings. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping students manage their behaviours and develop positive coping strategies. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you will make a lasting impact on the lives of the students you work with. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours, ideally in a school setting. • A caring, patient, and resilient attitude. • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations. • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality for all students. • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and well-being. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with challenging behaviours. • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). • Support students during lessons, ensuring they can engage and participate fully. • Work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to adapt learning materials to suit each child’s needs. • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all students.
