Position: Director, Corporate Strategy
Our client, a leading multinational organization in the high-tech sector, is currently seeking an experienced Director of Corporate Strategy to join their team in London, UK. This role is a key driver in shaping and steering the company’s strategic direction, ensuring long-term growth, and fostering alignment across various business functions
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in a multinational, matrixed environment, ideally in B2B software or SaaS/cloud sectors. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on expertise in corporate/commercial/sales strategy, planning & operations as a people manager is essential. Additionally, experience in management consulting from a tier 1 consultancy is strongly preferred.
An MBA is advantageous, and candidates should possess strong analytical skills, particularly in financial modelling and statistical analysis, with proficiency in data visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Corporate Strategy to drive the annual strategic planning process, working across key functions such as Finance, Product, and Sales to set long-term goals and objectives.
- Operational Management: Lead alignment efforts across the organization through managing quarterly and monthly performance reviews and executive leadership actions.
- Financial and Business Analysis: Conduct hands-on financial and statistical analysis of business performance, providing insights and strategic recommendations for decision making.
- Executive Communication: Develop high-level presentations and updates to communicate strategic progress to senior leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders, including their parent company.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals and communicate results effectively
- Performance Monitoring: Track monthly KPIs across functions to assess progress and provide feedback on potential adjustments.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with departments such as Finance, Product, Marketing, and more to ensure strategic alignment across the business.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop members of the Corporate Strategy & Planning team, encouraging a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years in high-tech vendor organizations, with at least 7 years in strategy, planning, and operations roles as a people manager.
- 3+ years of management consulting experience from a tier 1 consultancy is preferred.
- Proven ability to conduct hands-on analysis and provide strategic insights through financial and statistical analysis.
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading cross-functional strategic planning processes and aligning business objectives in dynamic, matrixed environments.
- A strategic thinker with a focus on execution, impact, and results.
