About the Team

The Compliance function at OKX is responsible for the company's overall compliance culture and program. We ensure regulatory requirements are met within applicable jurisdictions and internal policies and procedures are followed. We're an independent team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on its regulatory obligations and risks.

What You'll be Doing:

1. Lead strategic direction, training and advisory support regarding Compliance across all OKX entities within EMEA.
2. Manage the country Heads of Compliance/MLROs of OKX entities in the EMEA region to develop robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks.
3. Engage cross-functionally (with groups such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective compliance management program in line with global standards and industry best practices.
4. Monitor and assess compliance with laws, regulations and policies (including MiCA, GDPR, etc.) and similar types of regulation regionally.
5. Lead Compliance reporting in the region, including reports to senior management, management committees, and the board, and other materials as required by direct and matrix stakeholders.
6. Oversee ongoing regulatory engagement in the region with all key regulators.
7. Liaise with first line, as well as other second and third line teams to ensure a sufficient control environment that fulfills regulatory standards in all EMEA countries in which OKX entities operate.
8. Act as first port of call for business team members in compliance issues and advise accordingly.
9. Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

What We Look For in You:

1. 10+ years of experience in compliance in financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries.
2. Knowledge of Compliance and regulatory risks for the crypto industry.
3. Extensive experience of overseeing an effective compliance management program in line with EU/UK standards and an awareness of local and international industry best practices.
4. Experience and knowledge of relevant US and EU laws and requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy) and managing regulatory engagements.
5. Strong leadership and people management skills.
6. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
7. Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks.
9. Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge.
10. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to Haves:

1. Cryptocurrency experience is a plus.
2. CAMS, ICA, or equivalent certification.
