Field Engineer - CONTRACT - INSIDE IR35 My client, a global consultancy are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Huawei, Juniper, Ciena, or Nokia products. The role will primarily focus on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment in live network environments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all on-site activities are executed efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to network services. Key Responsibilities: Perform installation, maintenance, and configuration of Huawei, Juniper, Ciena, or Nokia telecommunications equipment. Execute plug-in/plug-out tasks, ensuring proper integration into live networks. Work on-site at various client locations to ensure network components are deployed accurately and according to technical specifications. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment or network-related issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with the NOC (Network Operations Center) and other technical teams to ensure seamless communication during live network work. Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, equipment installations, and service incidents. Adhere to strict safety protocols and ensure minimal disruption during on-site activities. Keep up to date with the latest hardware and software updates for telecommunications products. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience working with one or more of the following products: Huawei, Juniper, Ciena, or Nokia. Strong understanding of live network environments and how to operate within them. Ability to perform hands-on tasks such as plug-in, plug-out of network devices. Knowledge of telecommunications networks and infrastructure, particularly in the field of transmission and switching. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues quickly. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and client teams. Flexibility to travel to various on-site locations as required. Ability to work independently and under pressure in live, time-sensitive environments. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP) , Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCP) , Ciena Specialist , Nokia Certification ).
