As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a buildings and infrastructure background to join our team on an outside IR35 contract basis.Role Overview:We are looking for a Project Manager with 7+ years of experience in managing projects in commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and hotel sectors. The successful candidate will step into a 2iC (Second in Command) position, providing critical support to the Head of Project Management on a major global contract. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while traveling internationally in a structured and planned manner, without extended or sporadic trips.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning & Management: Lead the planning, scheduling, and budgeting of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Support Head of Project Management: Act as 2iC, supporting the Head of Project Management with project oversight, team management, and strategic input.Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met.Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and company policies across all project stages.Resource Coordination: Oversee internal and external resources, including contractors and third-party vendors, to ensure optimal project performance.Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed project reports, maintain comprehensive documentation, and communicate project status to senior management.Travel & On-Site Supervision: Engage in structured international travel to monitor project progress, with planned and brief visits as required.Essential Skills & Experience:7+ Years’ Experience: Proven experience in project management within the buildings or infrastructure sectors, with exposure to commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and hotel projects.UK-Based Experience: Familiarity with UK construction regulations, standards, and industry best practices.Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) and tools.Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, make informed decisions, and manage competing project priorities.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction, design, and contract administration.Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.Problem-Solving Ability: Analytical and proactive in identifying and resolving project challenges.Willingness to Travel: Flexibility to travel globally for short, structured periods.Preferred Qualifications:Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.Professional certifications such as RICS, CIOB, or APM are highly desirable.Experience working on large-scale, international projects.What We Offer:A competitive rate of up to £50 per hour.Opportunity to work on a prestigious global contract with a leading engineering consultancy.Structured and planned international travel.A collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth.
