Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Jones Day is seeking a motivated individual to join our Practice Services team as a Practice Coordinator for the Firm’s Global Disputes Practice. Our Practice Services team sits at the intersection of practicing lawyers and certain administrative functions of the Firm. We work in a collaborative and dynamic team-based environment that is focused on providing internal and external service excellence. The Practice Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Firm’s Global Disputes Practice, assisting the Practice Leader with respect to practice management and business and client development activities; working cooperatively with lawyers and fellow staff to advance and execute initiatives; and related short- and long-term projects. Responsibilities include: Conduct research and analysis of internal data, as well as local and global industry market data; Participate in Practice strategic planning and proactively drive business development initiatives; Draft internal presentations and client analytical reports; Update/maintain Practice marketing materials; Support internal Practice and cross-practice meetings; Assist local and global teams with preparation of submissions for legal directories, industry awards, surveys, and league tables; Assist lawyers, alongside the Business Development & Communications team, with coordination of client-focused events and activities; Maintain, update, and coordinate information in internal data systems; Support Practice budgeting, personnel evaluations, and other administrative activities, including appropriate cross-practice Firmwide initiatives. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of experience working within a law firm or corporate legal department. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, time management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong Excel capability and confidence in creative calculations and data analysis. Strong PowerPoint capability. Strong presentation skills. General knowledge of and familiarity with law firm practices; including health care and life sciences, is preferred. Strong service orientation and ability to work with a wide range of people on a global team. Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to changing priorities. Ability to establish effective working relationships both internally and externally. Ability and receptiveness to learn new systems and applications.
