Job Advert: Streetworks Inspector Location: Grimsby, DN31 1HU Duration: 14/10/2024 - 13/12/2024 Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour Work Hours: 08:00 - 16:00 Holiday Entitlement: 32 Days Driving Licence Required: Yes Dress Code: PPE provided Job Overview: We are seeking a Streetworks Inspector to monitor the progress and quality of works undertaken on the highway, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) on behalf of the local authority. The role includes overseeing safety standards, enforcing relevant street works legislation, and maintaining accurate records of inspections. Key Responsibilities: Monitor highway works to ensure compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA). Ensure safety standards for all works on the highway, applying delegated powers where necessary. Inspect street works, including skips and scaffolding on public highways. Maintain detailed records of all inspections for future reference. Investigate reports of defective reinstatement and pursue rectifications. Assist with enforcement of street works legislation, including serving notices and attending site meetings. Liaise with the public, authorities, and contractors to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues. Monitor the activities of all parties working on the highway, ensuring safe and correct practices. Perform permit compliance checks for statutory undertakers. Contribute to the development of working systems to improve service delivery. Undertake any other duties required at this level.Skills and Requirements: Strong knowledge of Highway/Civil Engineering construction methods, materials, and equipment. Ability to work methodically, maintain accurate records, and organise tasks within deadlines. Calm and professional approach with strong communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Experience using specialist IT software, databases, and spreadsheets. Full driving licence. Commitment to continuous professional development.Desirable: Highway Inspection Qualification or Streetworks Supervisors Accreditation.
