We are looking for a Curriculum administrator to join our client in the Higher Education sector on a 1 month contract plus possible extensions. The post holder is based in a student-facing office open from 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays. Main purpose of the job The post holder is part of a team responsible for managing the core MBBS programme of study in each of the 5 years; for overall MBBS and clinical placement timetabling and allocations to groups and specialties; and for liaising with clinical placement administrators at each provider to guide local placement timetabling and content to fulfil MBBS curriculum requirements aligned with the Intended Learning Outcomes in the MBBS Curriculum Map and the General Medical Council's Outcomes for Graduates. The team comprises 5-year teams each with a Year Coordinator and a Year Administrator responsible for coordinating the core programme of study and supporting the Academic Year, Module and other Teaching Leads in the management and delivery of modules and coordination of placements. The team liaises with the wider network of CPP (Clinical and Professional Practice) Module Leads and Administrators, Clinical Provider Placement Leads and Placement Administrators to enable the successful delivery of the programme overall; and with a broad range of key academic, clinical and professional services staff across UCL and its partner NHS Trusts, Primary Care and Specialist Providers. Each Year Administrator assists the Year Coordinator and wider team ensure a high quality and timely service to students and staff to underpin and enhance medical education and the medical student experience. Post holders work to Standard Operating Procedures in the agreed MBBS format. Duties and responsibilities Assist with the coordination and delivery of the core MBBS programme of study in *one year, including teaching and learning events and other activities relevant to the year (excluding events taught during Clinical and Professional Practice half day teaching). Work closely with the relevant Academic Year, Module, SSC, Patient Pathway and other Teaching Leads to coordinate teaching delivery including overall and module timetabling, room bookings, allocation of students to groups, identifying teachers, identifying demonstrators for practicals, confirming teaching sessions, coordinating annual update and publishing of module information, collating and publishing teaching materials at minimum one week prior to teaching events, facilitating Teams and lecturecast recordings, managing staff and student communications. First point of contact for students. Monitor and collate coursework and portfolio submissions and assist with entering required marks into Portico and the Medical School's Academic Student Record (ASR). Assist with arrangements for module sign off. Assist with the award of prizes relevant to the year. Assist with maintaining year and module webpages and Moodle courses. Liaise with teaching staff and check RegisterUCL to monitor attendance and engagement, and report absences via ASR. Work collaboratively with the MBBS Student Support Team to ensure appropriate exchange of information to support student academic progress. Advise students about MBBS policies, procedures, course organization, course requirements, regulatory requirements relevant to the year of study, based on a full understanding of the programme of study for the year and an awareness of the full MBBS programme of study. Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues to ensure cross cover and a high quality service to students. Participate in rotas to ensure the office is open to students and staff from 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays. On-the-day assistance at MBBS assessments and other events in all years of the programme. Criteria Qualifications, experience and knowledge Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent, or having acquired relevant experience Educated to A-level standard, or equivalent professional experience such as report writing High level knowledge of, and ability to work with, electronic media, including the ability to manage and manipulate complex data in excel spreadsheets, databases and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment).
