This is a high priority, exciting and innovative area of work, with ample opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, help embed cultural change in the team and the department, working closely with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, across the department.About the JobThe HR operations transformation project is aimed at automating and streamlining the work of the HR helpdesk, lifecycle, pensions, recruitment and onboarding teams, so that customers can acquire timely and accurate HR advice and continue to be supported effectively through HR queries and processes. Our target operating model will articulate the way we work in the future and a core part is the enablement of digital self-service.We’re currently in the process of defining the target operating model and it is envisaged that the overall project to deliver the changes will take place over approximately 18 months. This will include the initial due-diligence, design, delivery, stake holder engagement and adoption. Beyond this point, this role will have a broader focus: to continually improve the way that HR delivers its operational services.Key Accountabilities for this role include:In collaboration with the wider project team, who are using an agile project methodology approach. Ensure the new operating model transacts accurate people policies and efficient processes, which deliver what the organisation and end user needs.Work collaboratively and sensitively with policy and process owners to ensure changes are built and implemented sustainability as per the change plan. This will involve:spotting strategic links between systems, processes and policies and opportunities for wider improvements to ensure the operating model meets its objectives.acting as the single point of contact for the subject matter experts into the project, ensuring their expertise is front and centre/considered at right point in the development and implementation of the new model and wider change programme of work. 3. Support implementation and continuous improvement in HR processes and systems through long term culture change; agreeing capability plans and a framework for continuous improvement.4. Leading the testing of the new model and any future products with process owners, and end customers (both within HMT and our arms length bodies). 5. Working with the change lead to ensure the communications strategy and delivery reflects the new end user experience, supporting specific groups where appropriate.6. Lead on writing governance papers/packs, communication products where appropriate, when key decisions may be required.Some travel will be required between our office locations.About You You will need to have experience of implementing HR policy and running HR operations, whilst making continuous improvements to service. You must have the ability to deliver change, which shifts the strategic objectives in a challenging environment.
