Yard Chargehand

We are looking for a Yard Chargehand to join an engineering company based in Braintree. This telecoms and steel based company are a great fit if you have an interest in the metalwork industry and are keen to further your experience in a new environment. You will need to have previous experience managing a small team within a steel fabrication type environment as you will be working in the yard to assist in assembling steel structures as well as looking after your team. The company work 07:30-16:00 Monday to Friday. Starting salary will be circa £29,000 depending on previous experience. Overtime is available at 1.5x rate, when required by the business. Duties will include: Working with hand and power tools to assemble structures Moving and sorting steel in the yard Managing a small team of staff Carrying out any computer based duties as needed Working from technical drawingsExperience needed: Able to work from engineering drawings Knowledge within steel based environment Attention to detail and excellent eye for quality Ideally hold a forklift license (counterbalance) Computer literateIn return the company can offer a holiday buy back scheme, healthcare cash plan and other great benefits!
