A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF DE PARTIE AT DOUBLETREE BY HILTON EDINBURGH CITY CENTRE
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following duties.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workstations, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Learn and master basic culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen team.
Support the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Head Chef in maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by senior kitchen staff in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow proper food handling procedures, including temperature monitoring, labelling, and storage, to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
Embrace opportunities for learning and development, seeking feedback from mentors to enhance culinary skills.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To succeed in the role of Chef De Partie you will need the following qualities and skills:
The ability to adhering to the companys rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen, whilst ensuring health & safety standards are met.
To be flexible in your approach, and able to assist the Sous Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required.
A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department.
Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn.
An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
