Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Forest School Leader Location: Wirral Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Start Date: ASAP About Us: I am recruiting a HLTA on behalf of a nurturing primary school dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs (SEN). We believe in the transformative power of outdoor learning and are seeking a passionate and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead our Forest School program. Role Overview: As the HLTA for our Forest School, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, hands-on outdoor learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of our SEN students. You will facilitate a variety of activities that promote social skills, personal development, and a love for nature. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver Forest School sessions that cater to diverse learning needs. Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating outdoor environment. Support students in developing independence, teamwork, and resilience through experiential learning. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create individualized learning plans. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and staff. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.Qualifications and Experience: HLTA qualification or equivalent experience. Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting. Knowledge of Forest School principles and outdoor learning practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
