Job Title: Cost Control Engineer Location: Torquay, Devon Salary: Competitive Salary DOE About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Cost Control Engineer to join our dynamic fibre optics production team. In this critical position, you will play a key role in optimizing production processes, managing Bills of Materials (BOM), and analyzing yield data to enhance cost efficiency and product quality. Collaborating closely with finance, production, and cross-functional teams, you will help streamline processes and drive profitability. Key Responsibilities: BOM Management: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials to track material usage, production processes, and yield data for precise cost forecasting. Cost Analysis: Identify opportunities for cost reduction by working with procurement and design teams to optimize materials and processes. Yield Improvement: Analyze production data to minimize scrap rates and enhance overall efficiency. Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvement strategies utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to monitor cost and yield improvements. Skills and Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally in fibre optics or electronics. Proven expertise in BOM management, cost analysis, and yield improvement. Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is highly desirable. Strong data analysis skills with experience in ERP/MRP systems. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
