The Role: We are seeking an experienced Finance Director with strong commercial acumen to drive our client’s financial strategy, reporting directly to the CFO. Experience in guiding a company through rapid growth, from early-stage VC funding to exit, is particularly relevant. As a seasoned commercial leader, you will have a proven track record of managing high-performing teams, delivering strategic initiatives, and scaling businesses. While there is a capable team managing business-as-usual finance operations, you will still need to take a hands-on approach to day-to-day financial activities. This role requires a dynamic leader who can dive into the details when needed, making it unsuitable for those who prefer a hands-off style. Responsibilities: Report directly to the CFO, collaborating closely on strategic financial initiatives. Lead and build out the FP&A function, delivering key financial insights to support the company’s growth. Develop robust financial models and forecasts. Drive strategic decision-making through financial reporting, analysis, and business partnering. Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with company goals and long-term growth strategies. Provide detailed analysis of revenue, costs, and profitability across multiple projects. Strengthen financial controls and processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Enhance financial governance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Oversee and automate order-to-cash processes, optimizing working capital and liquidity management. Drive the adoption of automation tools to streamline invoicing, collections, and cash forecasting. Manage a finance team of 6. Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) 5 years of finance leadership experience (preferably in high-growth start-ups) including contributing to a company’s financial strategy. Strong FP&A and commercial finance skillset with the ability to be highly analytical and provide insight drawn from financial data. Experience working with venture capital-backed companies, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities they face, with the ability to effectively and proactively manage investor relations and manage Board meetings Benefits: Base Salary: £130,000 - £150,000 Competitive benefits package.
