We’re only just getting started, we have huge ambitions and as we grow we’re looking for talented, passionate people who love food and our approach to business to help us get there.Working at Plants We are a dynamic & passionate team of nine people. We believe our team members are what make our business special, and we hire extraordinary people to fulfil our extraordinary mission. About the role: We’re looking for a Senior Finance manager to lead the smooth running of our total finance function, working closely with our Managing Director and management team. This role will look after all elements of financial management and control, from core accounting to VAT, management accounts and cash flow. Your team: You will manage our Operations Executive and partner closely with the MD and Directors.Key responsibilities You will own the day-to-day management of the finance function for both our products business and our restaurant, taking responsibility for financial control and reporting, and providing timely and accurate financial information, analysis, and insight to our management team and directors. You will lead the preparation of management accounts monthly and ensure correct and timely quarterly VAT submissions & reportingYou will manage our payroll, pension scheme and employment taxes (PAYE, P11D)You will manage cash flow, including our short & long term cashflow forecast, closely monitoring and forecasting debtor balances and detailed forecasting of spend, working with our supply team to maintain an appropriate & accurately reflected stock position.You will oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Functions, supporting our Operations Executive.You will manage relationships with external stakeholders (banks, tax advisors, HMRC)About you: This role forms part of the core team at Plants and will be instrumental to our success. It is ideally suited to an experienced finance manager or senior finance manager looking for a fast track to Head of Finance. You are: Passionate – we need someone is passionate about growing a Plant Based food business, and who has a hard working and flexible approach to work. You need to be willing to embrace challenges that arise & work to find solutions. Qualified accountant – you will have an accredited professional accountancy qualification and bring with you at least 4 years FMCG industry experience. You will also have a deep understanding and ability to challenge P&L’s, along with knowledge of UK tax. Experienced – proven work experience as a senior finance manager or similar role in an SME business. You will be a strong excel user and confident in manipulating large amounts of data. Experience with Xero and Unleashed software is a plus.  Organised – this role will require a managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment; accuracy, efficiency and strong attention to detail will be crucial to your success.
