Job Description: Managing Director UK Location: UK (remote) Job Title: Managing Director UK Business Unit: Road Freight Main Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Independently manage and develop the UK region. Oversee business operations, including Domestic & European Groupage, LTL/FTL, and Transport Related Warehousing. Full P&L responsibility, ensuring the region meets its financial targets. Strategic Development: Consolidate and expand the region's market position by developing new and existing products and driving corresponding sales activities. Secure, support, and expand existing customer relationships while acquiring new customers. Lead strategic regional development initiatives, including acquisitions, to strengthen geographical setup and product competence. Employee Management: Exercise comprehensive management and supervisory responsibilities, including selecting, developing, and motivating employees. Lead a team by fostering a culture of performance, engagement, and continuous development. Market Analysis and Competitor Monitoring: Analyse direct and indirect competitors to inform strategic decision-making and business development. Optimise KPIs, setting targets and deriving measures to drive regional success. Process Optimization: Monitor, optimise, and further develop regional processes to enhance efficiency and performance. Professional Profile: Qualifications: Vocational training in freight forwarding, or alternatively, completed studies in transport, logistics, or business administration. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in management roles with multi-site responsibility in the road freight sector. Proven track record of sustainable success in the general cargo/groupage sector with full budget responsibility. Strong operational background. Skills: High affinity for numbers and financial management. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in managing diverse teams. Deep understanding of the UK regional market and culture. Strong negotiating, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills. Dynamic, inspiring, and open to digitalisation initiatives.
