Job Description We are seeking talented academic writers to collaborate with leading researchers and institutions across Japan to help draft compelling manuscripts for submission to top journals. In addition to writing and editing, you will advise researchers on how to make their studies more robust, highlight the key research question relative to its significance in the field, and recommend the most appropriate target journals for their research. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with researchers, scientists, and academic teams to develop, write, and edit manuscripts for submission to high-impact journals. Transform raw research data, findings, and methodologies into well-structured, coherent, and compelling narratives that align with journal requirements. Advise researchers on improving the robustness of their studies, emphasizing the key research question and its potential to advance the field, and aligning the manuscript with the most suitable target journal, while considering the researchers' publication goals. Partner with researchers, demonstrating patience and flexibility to navigate multiple rounds of feedback and revisions, while ensuring the lab’s research goals remain the central focus. Ensure that all manuscripts meet the submission guidelines of target journals in terms of format, structure, and style. Work with researchers to address feedback from peer reviewers and revise manuscripts accordingly. Collaborate with the project management team to deliver high-quality submissions on time. Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or higher) in the life sciences or biomedicine A minimum of 5 years of experience at a good research journal (e.g., Science , Nature , Cell , Lancet journals handling peer-review and directly editing text), with experience in peer-review and developmental editing of manuscripts.Proven experience in writing and editing manuscripts for submission to high-impact scientific journals. Deep understanding of top journal processes and requirements and scientific publishing standards. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely. Familiarity with research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data presentation. Demonstrated ability to partner with busy researchers, showing patience through multiple feedback rounds and maintaining alignment with the lab’s or research team’s goals. Why Join Us?
