Academic Support Manager

We are working on a newly created, Trade Support Analyst mandate for the rapidly expanding crypto arm of a market leading global proprietary trading firm. The firm run high volume/highly quantitative trading strategies, with a global footing. The firm’s crypto business is relatively new, albeit it has had huge expansion over the past 24 months and is already considered a market leader in the space. We are hiring a trade support specialist specific to the crypto desk that you will sit with. The remit of the role is broad, predominately covering traditional trade support tasks, but also treasury management responsibilities (managing cash/collateral across multiple brokers and clearing houses), risk (reporting, monitoring & escalation) and product control, fully supporting the trade execution process. The firm have state-of-the-art systems and so no BAU work is particularly manual, instead with the focus on high level oversight of processes and deep dive analytics for reporting. Project & tech responsibilities make up a core component of the role. You will constantly work on automation / improvement projects for the BAU processes that you run, working with the technology team to develop new tools and applications, whilst also appreciating that this is still a relatively new, rapidly expanding business unit and as such working with members of senior management on major buildout projects will also always play a prominent part. The hire will have the opportunity for significant professional development, with the opportunity to use and/or skill up in Python, SQL, Matlab and R to an advanced level. Candidates should have 2-5yrs experience in a hedge fund / prop / IB / crypto trade support role. Assuming no prior crypto experience, the hire must have a passion for crypto markets. An excellent academic profile is a requirement, as are current coding skills. This is a crucial hire and so my client has told the successful hire to expect a significant increase in his/her current base salary, with a strong performer receiving a large % of that number as a bonus, with further year-on-year TC growth promised to a strong performer.
