Childcare Solicitor

We are currently working in partnership with a local authority, who are looking for a newly qualified Solicitor to join the team on a permanent basis.This will be a full-time position based predominantly from home, with 1 day per week in the office in Oxford, and a salary of £41,496 to £44,539 per annum.The ideal candidate will have recently qualified as a Solicitor, and have some experience working within Childcare teams.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Delivering high quality legal advice and services to Directorates and Corporate ServicesDrafting documents and legal agreements, to ensure that policy is formulated, and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basisCarrying a caseload of legal work, largely unsupervised, within the Childcare, and holding responsibility for completing all aspects of the task in accordance with good legal practice and client service specificationUndertaking legal research and preparing appropriate advice on the results of such research, including advising the council on risk and mitigationsExperience required:Qualified Solicitor / CILEX LawyerExperience within local government is desirableExperience within Childcare & Family Law is essentialRewards and Benefits:Up to 32 days annual leave (+ bank holidays)Excellent pension scheme, with employer contributions of up to 20% of salaryFamily friendly schemes, including generous maternity, paternity and support for carers and a tax-saving childcare voucher schemeWorking hours:37 hours per weekMonday – Friday, 9am-5pmPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
