Project Manager : EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sound Futures Opportunity Become the Project Manager of an exciting new Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT). EPSRC CDT in Sound Futures will train 70 future engineering leaders who will reduce the harms caused by noise and poor acoustics and forge a more positive sounding future. This is an unprecedented collaboration for doctoral training in acoustics between four universities and over 50 project partners. At Salford, you will be part of a World-leading centre in acoustics research, but you will also work closely with Sheffield, Bristol and Southampton Universities and our project partners. The CDT Project Manager is a core role supporting the ambitions of the PhD training programme. You will need to combine good management and networking skills with well-developed problem solving and communications. You will need to be able to build effective working relationships with senior managers in different academic institutions and contexts, connect with professional services and stakeholders, and influence them to support delivery of the project. Key Responsibilities Supporting the delivery of a high quality marketing and recruitment processes for doctoral students. Supporting the delivery of an effective training programme for five cohorts of future sector leaders as they embark on their 4-year PhD student journey Working closely with the four institutional partners to ensure effective strategic and operational collaborations, consistent with project objectives Manage and support advancement of a network of partners. Manage all contractual issues between the partners, funder and external partners. A bit about our department You will be based in The Acoustics Research Centre, School of Science, Engineering and Environment, University of Salford. The research centre is internationally renowned for its expertise in acoustics. It is one of the largest and longest established groups in the World and the largest group in the North-West of the UK. The Acoustics Research Centre has provided two impact case studies for REF 2021 and a third of the papers for UoA 13submission.
