Job Title: Junior Estimator / Office Assistant Location: Bury Salary: Competitive Company Overview: My client, a dynamic utilities company based in Bury, is seeking a Junior Estimator/Office Assistant to join their team. Specializing in utilities and pipeline installations, they are offering an exciting opportunity for a construction graduate or someone with hands-on experience who is looking to step into an office-based role. This part-time position offers exposure to a variety of responsibilities, with the chance to grow into a full-time estimator role within 18 months. Job Responsibilities: * Buyer/Procurement: Assist in buying materials and ordering plant, including equipment such as dumpers and diggers. Track hired items and ensure they are accounted for. * Accreditation Support: Gather and organize information for accreditation processes like Achilles, helping to complete forms and answer questions within the system. * Health & Safety (H+S): Provide administrative support related to health and safety, ensuring compliance and assisting with H&S documentation. * Estimating Support: Work closely with the estimating team, helping to measure and price projects. This role offers the opportunity to get involved in estimating tasks and gain practical experience. * General Admin: Provide support with general office administration, keeping everything organized and running smoothly. * Career Growth: The goal is for the successful candidate to transition into a full-time estimator role within 18 months, gaining exposure to all aspects of the business. Requirements: * Experience in construction: Either in an administrative role or with hands-on experience (e.g., having worked on-site with tools). * Eager to Learn: Motivated to step into an office-based role with the willingness to learn the ropes of estimating. * Organized: Strong organizational skills, especially for managing materials, plant, and H&S documentation. * Team Player: Able to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment. * Construction Graduate (Preferred): Ideal for someone who has recently graduated or is looking to start their career in construction and estimating.
