Working from state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the West Midlands, it is our pleasure to now be partnering our Client to help develop, build and nurture their team with only the very best talent! As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Project Procurement Specialist who has experience of Capital Procurement within a Public Sector environment. This position is to aid the company in remaining at the forefront of battery scale up and production by procuring new capital equipment for the site. This is a contract position with initially an anticipated duration of 6-12 months, although there is a possibility this could be extended beyond this term. The company has received significant government funding to invest in the latest battery scale up and production equipment. This equipment is to be made available for their clients to develop products. This position requires public sector buying experience and you will need to adhere to or closely replicate government purchasing criteria.  You should be a self-starting individual, who is able to manage themselves and the stakeholders around you to ensure that the project moves forward and succeeds. On offer to the successful candidate is a highly competitive hourly rate. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand the equipment requirements and to help to mould those requirements into a Public Procurement approach and Invitation To Tender documentation ready to go to market.  Develop a project structure, plan and timelines around all areas of capital spend. Working with the Finance Director & Company Secretary to develop commercial terms and conditions to underpin the orders and contracts to be placed. Advise and be an SME on how the Public Contract Regulations (2025) will affect how the company spends money within the project framework. Develop a fair, transparent and robust process by which to spend public money and be aware of public sector buying criteria applying these principles to the process. Act as the point of contact for external suppliers to interface with the company regarding capital spend. Facilitate specification, go-to market, Tender Responses, Assessment, Award, T&Cs discussions, Order placement and Factory / Site / User acceptance testing phases of the project, all with paramount attention to detail and upholding internal governance. Consider the through life contract costs, including provisions for maintenance and spares. Work with Finance to manage spend profiles.You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should ideally be Degree educated within procurement, purchasing, business or similar discipline or CIPS qualified to Level 6, although those qualified by experience may also be considered. Should ideally offer plenty of experience working as a Buyer preferably with exposure to Capital Equipment Procurement within a Public Sector environment. In essence, a Public Procurement Specialist would be perfect. Should have an understanding of the Public Contract Regulations (2015) and how these are set to change in 2025 and be able to advise on internal processes as applicable. You will have an organised approach to your work, with the ability to create structure and manage complexity.It’s great if you also have the following: Public Sector Buying experience is highly desirable.This position is available with immediate effect.
