Mechanical Service Engineer Location: West Midlands (UK & Europe Travel) Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time Engineering @ 365 Ltd is working with a specialist provider of special purpose machinery tools within the machine tool industry. Our client, based in the West Midlands, is renowned for their exceptional reputation in the market. Due to an increasingly busy service department, they are seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to support their expanding service, installation, and commissioning operations across the UK and potentially in Europe. Responsibilities & Duties: * Perform mechanical service, installation, commissioning, and repair work on a variety of special purpose machine tools. * Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring proper setup, maintenance, and repairs. * Provide expert support on CNC machine tools, including lathes and machining centres. * Carry out mechanical tasks such as ball screw and linear guide replacements, spindle exchanges, gib adjustment/scraping, and geometric alignments. * Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, offering timely and effective fault-finding and repair solutions. * Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe as required to provide exceptional service. * Collaborate with the wider team to ensure high-quality service delivery. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with CNC machine tools and related mechanical systems. They will possess a solid background in hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as experience in the following areas: * CNC machine tools, including lathes and machining centres. * Ball screw and linear guide replacement, spindle exchanges, gib adjustment/scraping, and geometric alignments. * Fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair on machine tools. * Experience with Fanuc and Okuma controls (advantageous but not essential). * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple projects. Requirements: * Proven experience in the service, installation, and commissioning of special purpose machinery. * Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC systems. * Strong mechanical engineering skills with a focus on precision and quality. * Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required. * Full UK Driving Licence. Additional Requirements: * 3-5 years of relevant experience within the machine tool industry. * Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults. * Comfortable working in a customer-facing role with the ability to build strong client relationships.
