Job Opportunity: Housing Officer (Temporary) Position: Housing Officer Contract: Temporary, ASAP - 3 Month Contract Possibility of Extension: Yes, based on performance Pay Rate: £22.13 per hour (PAYE) Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 17:00 Location: E1 1BJ Job Purpose: We are looking for a highly motivated person who is committed to the very highest standards of customer care and Housing management to join our busy team as a Neighbourhood Housing Officer. You will have responsibility for managing a Neighbourhood patch providing tenancy Housing and Estate management services and will be expected to: Manage the patch to an exceptionally high standard engaging with and involving residents in the management of their Neighbourhood through regular estate inspections. Proactively deal with all potential hazards and Fire Risk Assessment actions. To ensure speedy property lettings in line with Tower Hamlets Homes' and national BVPI targets. Support and sustain tenancies to prevent homelessness by providing general tenancy support to residents to help sustain their tenancy. To undertake sensitively and effectively all aspects of tenancy management. To case manage residents with additional needs. To take action concerning breach of tenancy, removal of squatters, unauthorised occupants, authorising successions, assignments including attending Court to give evidence. Deal sympathetically and effectively with clients, often in stressful circumstances, by telephone, office interview, home visits and when representing the Council in court. Have sound judgement and the ability to prioritise effectively. Meet various performance targets. Understanding of housing laws, regulations, and policies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges. Proficiency in using housing management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
