Sport and physical education are enjoyed by all the pupils, with a strong emphasis on participation for all. Art, music and drama all form part of the curriculum and there are clubs and extra-curricular activities which aim to enrich the children's experiences and involve them in as many positive and exciting activities as possible Your new role You will have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant with SEND children, particularly communication and interaction difficulties. You must be patient, caring, supportive and willing to work with a committed staff team. The ability to work and communicate well with parents is essential for this post. Reporting to the Primary Phase Headteacher and SENDCO/Director of Inclusion, the duties will include: Having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the needs of all the pupils on the SEND register under the communication and interaction area of need. Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, treating them consistently, with respect and consideration. Liaising with teachers, TAs and LSAs who work with pupils within this area of need to ensure the correct support is put in place. Ensuring Quality First teaching strategies are in place for pupils within this area of need and support teachers with this process. Monitoring the Assess, Plan, Do, Review process for these pupils and any interventions put in place. Tracking and monitoring pupils under the social, emotional and mental health area of need and analysing the impact of support in place, providing regular updates to the SENDCO. Working with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary. You will have: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher At least 3 years' experience in supporting children's learning within the area of SEND Good numeracy and literacy skills The ability to communicate well with colleagues and parents The ability to work well within a supportive teamwork structure The ability to take direction but be prepared to take initiative when required Creativity and imagination showing an ability to adapt teaching styles to the needs of pupils Sound ICT skills Natural authority What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
