Lead Mechanic (EV)

Our client, a specialist in developing bespoke electric vehicle drivetrains for one-off projects, is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead and oversee production in a large 20,000-square-foot facility. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will ensure the smooth and efficient management of all production processes.

The Workshop Manager will:

• Organise and project manage the manufacture and assembly of subsystems, including battery boxes, steering assemblies, chassis, and transmissions.
• Lead a team of electrical and mechanical technicians, providing technical guidance and resolving any issues during bespoke vehicle conversions.
• Contribute technical expertise to the design and development of EV solutions.
• Oversee the mechanical workshop, electrical workshop, and production departments.
• Support Sales and Marketing by offering technical input for customer and media communications.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least five years of hands-on experience in vehicle mechanics, preferably with classic cars or bespoke builds.
• Proven ability to plan production schedules, track progress, and ensure quality control.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills to handle challenges during production.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary production teams.
