Your key responsibilities will include:Sourcing & Procurement:Identify and evaluate suppliers to source materials, products, and services.Maintain a balance between cost, quality, and delivery timelines to meet organisational requirements.There may be a requirement from time-to-time to prepare purchase orders. However, the primary focus of this role is to be supplier-facing and driving value for the business.Supplier Management:Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality performance.Negotiate terms of purchase agreements including price, quantity, delivery schedules, and payment terms.Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to ensure reliability and quality.Cost Management:Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, alternative sourcing, or contract negotiations.Analyse purchasing trends to ensure effective budget management and cost control.Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to anticipate and mitigate cost increases.Contract Management:Draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure favourable terms for the company.Ensure all procurement activities adhere to the company’s procurement policies and legal requirements.Track contract renewals and ensure timely renegotiation or extension of key agreements.Risk & Compliance:Assess supply chain risks, such as supplier dependency, geopolitical factors, and market volatility.Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, internal policies, and ethical guidelines.Resolve any issues related to non-compliance or disputes with suppliers.Collaboration & Communication:Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, production, operations) to align procurement strategies with organisational goals.Provide regular updates on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.Assist in cross-functional projects aimed at improving supply chain efficiency.Procurement Reporting & Analysis:Track key procurement metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and OTIF rates.Use data analysis to improve procurement processes, inform purchasing decisions, and optimise supplier selection.Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends, supplier performance, and risk assessments.What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will posses a relevant degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field and ideally, and hold a professional qualification such as CIPS. You will also have held a similar role within a procurement function, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
