Operations & Commercial Director - Energy SectorLocation: Hampshire - relocation available - hybrid working ( 75% on site remainder of the time at sites, clients or from home)Salary: £85-115,000 + bonus + car allowance + corporate benefitsOur Client is a market leading environmental organisation. Their energy organisation is seeking an exceptional individual to lead one of their divisions (from a commercial and financial ) position.As a leading force in the Divisional Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the business unit. This role involves driving growth, ensuring profitability, and aligning the business unit’s objectives with the company's overall strategic goals. The Director will lead a team of senior managers and a broader team of 140 colleagues and work closely with the group central functions and other divisions to ensure efficient & consistent ways of working.Success will be assessed and measured on group, business unit & divisional financial performance (revenue & EBITDA), customer & stakeholder feedback, and the successful execution of the division’s targets.The role:Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the business unit’s overall objectivesOversee daily operations and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all business activitiesEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policiesConduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staffEnsure best practices and continuous improvement processesDevelop and manage the business unit’s budgetEnsure financial targets are met and drive initiatives to improve profitabilityMonitor financial performance and make data-driven decisionsFoster relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholdersEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate operational performanceAnalyse data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvementEnsure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirementsCommunicate effectively with all stakeholders & provide regular updates on business performanceMaintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and problem resolution, this could be by developing a customer experience flow to include a contact centre to manage the job flows.Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionallyHealth and Safety responsibility for the siteThe person:Degree educated or equivalentCommercial and operational experience gained within a fast based , technical manufacturing and service business for example fuel, energy, EV or environmental organisation.Extensive contract management experience delivering for customers under strict SLA regimesExtensive commercial experience in a B2B contract driven environmentProven ability to balance commercial opportunity with operational capability while maximising profitabilityProven experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong understanding of operations management principles and practicesStrong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading, inspiring & motivating teams to achieve goals and objectivesExperience of driving efficiencies and developing the Lean agenda for an organisation, operational excellence, continuous improvement, kaizen etcEffective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasksA high degree of reliability and integrity with an open mindset, to enable management of demands arising through organisational growth and embrace change and challengeExcellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of reliability and integrityTo apply please email your CV to [email protected]
