Are you a Maintenance Manager looking for a change in environment? I am proud to be working with Ulster Carpets to recruit a Maintenance Manager. As the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for leading the team and overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe operations of manufacturing equipment, systems, facilities and infrastructure. You will provide technical advice and support to the team to assist with problem solving, as well as being responsible for budget control and expenditure reports. Duties & Responsibilities Maintenance Operations & Asset Management: Lead and manage daily operations of the maintenance department, including scheduling, troubleshooting and repairs. Implement and manage PPM programs to minimise reactive downtime Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and building systems Coordinate and Supervise contractors carrying out maintenance work. Develop and implement asset management strategies to manage the life cycle and performance of equipment and facilities. Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the capital expenditure budget for asset improvements and replacements. Conduct regular audits and assets to ensure they are maintained and in good working condition Utilise the existing maintenance system SolarWinds Leadership & Continuous Improvement Lead and develop a small team of electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians, providing ongoing training recommendations, and performance feedback Adopt a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork with the maintenance department Manage employee shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage for maintenance operations Identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance process and equipment performance Collaborate with production teams to implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency Use data driven approaches to improve maintenance response times, reduce downtime, and improve equipment reliability. Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with H&s policies, HSENI guidelines and environmental regulations. Work closely with the H&S Manager to conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and training to minimise workplace hazards. Organise external statutory inspections. Budgeting and Reporting Prepare and manage the maintenance budgets Ensure cost-efficient procurement of maintenance supplies, parts, and service, setting up service contracts and renewing when required. Essential Requirements 3rd Level Qualification in Engineering or related (Preference: Mechanical) Minimum of 3 year's experience in maintenance management position Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, asset management principles and CMMS Software Proven experience in managing PPM programs Proven experience of reviewing and updating maintenance contracts Ability to complete technical assessments of machinery/ equipment Desirable Requirements Degree in Engineering Discipline Safety related qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH) Experience gained managing a budget experience in a manufacturing environment Contractor assessment and appointment Experience of developing CAPEX proposals and supporting large scale projects Full details will be provided upon application.
