Role SummaryMembership and Supporter Engagement ManagerAdvancementFull-timeFixed term (6 months with possibility for up to 13 months)£41,852 per annumApplication deadline: 12pm (midday) on Monday 4 November 2024 The main purpose of this role is to ensure a unified approach is taken for engagement for all of the Museum’s supporters. The British Museum’s Membership represents an important base of support for the Museum. The successful candidate will design and oversee an annual calendar of high-quality interactions with supporters and Members, making best use of resources, ensuring supporters feel valued and, ultimately, delivering high retention rates. Key areas of responsibility: Communications – developing an annual calendar of printed and digital communications, overseeing the design and production of video content for supporters, reviewing communications suppliers, and maintaining the Membership area of the British Museum website Events – overseeing the design and implementation of an event programme for Members as well as contributing to the design of a suite of engagement events for all Museum supporters Data and analysis – analysing direct mail response effectiveness and Members’ behaviours to inform decisions about the contents of our communications alongside undertaking market research Fundraising – designing and implementing an annual fundraising appeal Additional responsibilities – managing a team of four including two events professionals and two communications professionals as well as working with Marketing and Broadcast team.About you: Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Previous experience in a communications/marketing or donor support role in a cultural, charitable or not for profit organisation. Experience of: project planning, managing communications and third party suppliers, developing SLAs, outsourcing services and re-tendering, working with CMS systems and gathering behavioural data, designing fundraising campaigns and stewardship plans, and events and budget management. Able to execute persuasive communications plans, manage diverse stakeholders and external suppliers and supervise a small team. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, who enjoys working as part of a team and is willing to work out of hours.About the British Museum:Founded in 1753, the British Museum’s remarkable collection spans over two million years of human history and culture.
