Immediate need for a Senior Planner to join a global engineering and project management client.
Job Description: Senior Commercial Planner
Location:
North West of England (approx. 15 miles west of Chester)
Travel:
Occasional business travel, including potential international trips
Sector Knowledge: Chemical & Industrial (or Oil & Gas)
Discipline Knowledge: Civil, Mechanical, Pipework, Electrical, Instrumentation, Access, Insulation, Painting within Industrial sector (Power, Chemical, Oil, Gas, etc.)
Experience: 10+ years of experience, including over 5 years in a senior commercial role on major capital projects (several hundred million to over a billion pounds) Experience with major EPC or EPCM contracts, either client or contractor side Strong planning background, ideally client side, with knowledge of risk management
Key Responsibilities: Front End Development:
Support the client with the front end development process (knowledge of FEL gates is desirable) Integrated Management Schedule:
Develop and own the integrated management schedule EPCM Schedule Analysis:
Interrogate and analyze the EPCM schedule and progress reporting Client Work Packages:
Plan and schedule client work packages Regulatory Approvals:
Work with clients, consultants, and contractors to schedule planning, permitting, and other regulatory approvals Schedule Challenges:
Challenge client and contractor schedules, demonstrating the basis for challenges Progress Reviews:
Review progress submissions from the contractor and provide advice and guidance to the client Change Management:
Support the change management process Schedule Reviews:
Lead schedule reviews and meetings with contractors on behalf of the client Interactive Planning:
Conduct schedule interactive planning reviews and what-if analysis Schedule Input:
Provide schedule input to the client project team and business support functions (e.g., finance) Ad-Hoc Support:
Provide ad-hoc support to the client as needed, in collaboration with the Client Director
