Yard Operative

Join a dynamic and rapidly expanding international freight-forwarding company as a Yard Operative at their Chelmsford Warehouse! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and traffic management in a bustling yard environment.

Key Duties and Accountabilities:

• Shunt Class One and Class Two vehicles within the yard with precision using Terburg Shunt Vehicle.
• Manage the flow of traffic for third-party vehicles to minimise congestion and enhance safety.
• Clean and maintain trucks and trailers, ensuring they are in top condition.
• Uphold cleanliness standards in the yard and around external fire exits.
• Conduct yard spot checks to identify maintenance needs proactively.
• Provide support to Warehouse Operatives with loading and unloading containers as needed.

Skills Required:

• A valid Category C+E Licence is essential for this role.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
• A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality work standards are consistently met.
