We challenge ourselves and our students to aspire to be the very best they can, enjoying learning and being active members of the learning community.About the roleKey details:Working week: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, 37 hours per week, Term-time onlyWage: £6.40 per hourLocation: Birley Ln, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S12 3BPApprenticeship Standard: Level 3 Teaching AssistantDuration: 16 monthsOverview of the role: You will be required to support children in accessing the curriculum, this will sometimes be 1 to 1 and sometimes in small groups. You will support by helping children retain focus, scribing, reading and providing emotional support and guidance.Key Responsibilities:To be responsible for supporting academic progress of studentsYou may be assigned a student to support on a 1 to 1 basis or work with a group. Teaching Assistants are required to get to know the children they support and understand their barriers to learning and then support those children to access the curriculum using a range of strategies.To follow academy routines and processes as directedTo provide appropriate academic support to studentsTo work as a member of the learning support team.Apprenticeship Summary:You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification across a total duration of 16 months!Training provider: LMP Group: https://lmp-group.co.uk/ All online/remote learning, no classroom or college day releaseAn allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship!About the Candidate Skills & Personal Qualities Required:Excellent communication skillsGood literacy and numeracy skillsProfessional persona and appearance Ability to remain calm and behave appropriately around children and young peopleHave an awareness of safeguarding Qualifications Required:GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essentialGCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essentialApprenticeship OverviewDuring this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief, social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils' wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the children's learning experiences, helping them to succeed academically and personally.Milestone 1. Keeping children safe in Education - (KCSIE Policy, child protection, safeguarding awareness, serious case reviews, health, safety and wellbeing legislation)Milestone 2.
