The Aerospace Technology Institute The Aerospace Technology Institute sits at the centre of UK aerospace research and technology. It is responsible for the UK’s Aerospace Technology Strategy and development of a national R&T investment presently worth £3.9 billion through to 2026. It is a truly game-changing initiative. The Role This role will deliver comprehensive market, supply chain, economic, and cost/benefit analyses to support the development of the UK aerospace technology strategy and innovation programmes. The role will play a crucial role in enhancing our proprietary market forecasting model, developing new website tools, and performing supply chain data analytics and competitive analysis. Responsibilities include: Market and economic assessment of funding applications to the ATI Conduct market, supply chain, economic, and programme cost/benefit analyses to inform aerospace technology strategies. Enhance and maintain our proprietary market forecasting model using Matlab. Develop innovative tools to support market analysis and strategy. Perform in-depth supply chain data analytics and competitive analysis. Structure complex information for clear and effective delivery. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and analyse relevant data. Support various aspects of the business as needed, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative team environment. The Candidate The candidate will have a strong record delivering complex data analysis and modelling with Matlab and MS Excel. A keen interest and demonstratable knowledge of the civil aerospace market is also important. They must be team and delivery focused, keeping outcomes in mind while ensuring that multiple stakeholders are bought into objectives, inputs, and assumptions. They will have demonstrated the following characteristics: Aptitude and creative thinking, particularly in the field of data analytics, modelling, market analysis Ability to structure and deliver complex analysis with a keen eye on detail Ability to maintain a focus on the outcomes and impact that work is intended to deliver and not lose focus in the detail Ability to work efficiently and deliver on time, managing their own work plan Ability to plan and draw on multiple stakeholder inputs, as well as strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complexity at the right level Ability to understand strategic context, ask relevant questions, engage on topics and challenge ideas constructively. A positive ‘can do’ attitude in the face of challenges Good self-awareness, demonstrating a high-level of professionalism and tact Excellent planning and delivery across concurrent projects Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and works with energy Natural collaborator, with strong work ethic and team spirit Skills Strong experience in Matlab, MS Excel, PowerBI, Word and PowerPoint is a requirement. We are also seeking great analytical and communications skills. The candidate should be able to write in a variety of formats and forms (e.g. white papers, publications, presentations, etc.) in a clear and compelling manner. Education and Experience Higher education qualifications in relevant science/engineering/economics/business subjects Professional experience in business/market modelling using analytical tools
