An exciting opportunity at a forward thinking, people focused insurance company. This is a 9 month FTC, offering hybrid working, 2 days a week in the London Office.
Overview
• Responsible for monthly close process for all UK entities in the Lloyd’s business
• Responsible for quarterly group reporting pack for Lloyd’s business including UK consolidation
• Responsible for non-technical journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Responsible for statutory reporting and tax (CT/VAT) for all non-underwriting entities in Lloyd’s business
• Support development of Finance function
Key responsibilities
• Responsible for monthly close process for all UK entities in the Lloyd’s business
• Responsible for quarterly group reporting pack including UK consolidation
• Responsible for non-technical journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop strong and in-depth understanding of dataflows which support the population of the GL and overall financial reporting
• Maintain adequate procedures and controls
• Contribute to improving overall quality and speed of reporting with efficient use of systems and tools
• Responsible for production of annual accounts for all non-underwriting companies
• Responsible for preparation of quarterly VAT returns and other tax returns for non- underwriting companies
• Provide evidence and assistance to external auditors as required
Skills & experience profile
Essential
• Extensive experience of financial close process and consolidation
• Experience of Investment accounting
• Experience of group reporting
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Positive attitude to learn and develop
• Ability to challenge and improve finance activities
• Proven ability to work to deadlines
• Accounting qualification – fully qualified
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced level in Microsoft Office and other data manipulation tools
Preferred
• Use of Sun accounting software & Vision Q&A
• Experience in a Lloyd’s business
