The Opportunity:
Europe’s #1 Integrated Defence Company seeks an influential Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Mechanical Future Concepts team.
The Role:
You’ll take charge of Mechanical Development across major projects and R&D initiatives, driving the design and optimisation of sub-systems and components to advance the early-stage mechanical development of missile designs and prototypes.
Additionally, you'll generate innovative research ideas and secure the necessary funding to turn these concepts into reality, shaping the future of defence technology.

Required Skills/Experience:
- A British citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship, with active or willingness to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
- Solid grasp of Mechanical Design, including a keen understanding of electronic packaging and thermal management.
- Ability to develop concept design solutions from limited information and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Awareness of related fields such as Structural Design and Low Observability is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for collaborating, influencing, and negotiating with stakeholders across the business.
- Relevant experience with 3D CAD/CAE tools (training on preferred CAE tools will be provided).
Benefits Package:
- Base salary: Up to £60,000 (DoE)
- Annual Bonus: Circa £2,500
- Overtime: Optional paid overtime - flat rate (1.25)

- Pension: Pension 14% (6% Employee and 8% Employer)
