We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team within Vistry South Central Midlands, at our Coleshill office. As our Senior Engineer, you will coordinate and manage the engineering due diligence of land acquisitions on behalf of the regional land team and technical teams, ensuring that all abnormal elements are managed and value engineered to ensure best value for the region and our pursuit of land purchase opportunities.

Bachelor of Engineering degree (BEng), or
Masters degree in Civil Engineering (MEng), or
Equivalent qualifications (HNC/D etc)
Experience working within a residential house builder or relevant consultancy
In-depth knowledge of the engineering function and its delivery
Knowledge or other engineering packages (Geosite, Smart Engineer, Autotrack, Microdrainage, PDS)
Understanding of changes to regulations and legislation
Strong mathematical and IT ability
Able to analyse complex data and critically evaluate plans
Good understanding of budget management
The ability to visualise and explain design ideas
Able to work under pressure
Able to work with a high degree of accuracy
Decision maker with pragmatic approach to problem solving
A self-starter capable of creating and maintaining momentum in projects

Prepare site acquisition due diligence reports based on Vistry life of site reporting documentation.
Procure service records and enquiries for potential developments, ensure that any service constraints are clearly identified and messaged and ensure any pre-development enquiries are undertaken.
Procure budget service and diversion quotations as appropriate.
Oversee the design and detailing carried out by externally appointed Consulting Engineer's responsible for providing acquisitions designs for Civil Infrastructure, Private plot works and foundations ensuring the consultants are accurately briefed to ensure designs constitute best practice and value.
Assess and report on constraints and arising from issues note directly related to engineering such as Ecology, Noise, Archaeology etc and report appropriate mitigation measures to the business having taken appropriate expert advice.
Assist in programming and monitoring key dates for potential sites for engineering strategy and information delivery.
Obtain acquisition designs for foundations ensuring that designs are as robust and as economic as possible whilst ensuring the business is protected from future abnormal costs.
Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of Consultant's designs to ensure that proposals adhere to best practice in value Engineering through the land acquisition process.
Liaise with other technical team members and others as necessary to ensure acquisition documentation and reporting is accurate.
To assist the technical team with all Engineering related work and manage drawing & design issues as necessary.
Preparation of appropriate Health and Safety documentation in line with Vistry LOS procedures
To check all drawings that are supplied by consultants in relation to the Civil and Structural Engineering aspects of acquisition designs and provide guidance to external consultants as necessary.
Always represent Vistry Housebuilding professionally in both personal appearance and conduct.
Attendance to meetings with both internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
Managing proposed service enquiries with relative stat providers. Co-ordinating existing services disconnections and diversions where required.
