James Lewis has been appointed to assist a multi-dimensional MEP-led Principal Contractor in North London in their search for a Construction Project Planner to join the team. Our client works across a range of project sectors which include data centres, education, commercial, healthcare and science & technology in and around London and the Southeast. They provide services from design, through construction and fit out to the maintenance of the projects, effectively offering an end-to-end solution.
Due to a combination of both existing projects and a strong pipeline of work into 2025, they are looking to recruit an additional Planner ideally with experience in critical infrastructure projects or MEP services. The role is predominantly site based in Harlow, Essex, but there will be an element of hybrid working once you ve settled in.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of a key data centre project which is their 3rd on this particular site. Working closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders, you ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and tracking detailed project schedules. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in line with the company's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6
- Collaborate with project managers to develop timelines, milestones, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and potential delays, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Provide regular progress updates, reports, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with various teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Analyze and forecast project costs, timelines, and deliverables to optimize project efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Planner on large-scale construction projects (please note that a career spent working predominantly on residential, rail, power/utilities or civils projects would not be deemed suitable)
- Proficiency in both Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 is essential.
- Previous planning experience to include MEP elements of projects
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including critical path analysis and resource loading.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively develop solutions.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
Both Freelance and Permanent candidates will be considered for the role. Freelance candidates receive an all-in day rate outside of IR35. Perm candidates receive car allowance, travel and bonus
