Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is hiring for one of our clients in Somerset. Our client is a UK market leader within the food industry and operates from multiple sites across the UK.
The Role:
You will be assisting the team manager by providing technical support and guidance to other engineers. This will ensure that engineering tasks are done safely, improving equipment, the department, and overall site performance, while aiming to create a highly efficient workplace. Responsibilities include:
- Make sure engineers, contractors, and visitors follow safety rules and company policies.
- Ensure food safety and quality standards are met through proper routines and maintenance.
- Operate according to the Quality Management System, including monitoring critical safety points.
- Act professionally, follow company values, and encourage the team to do the same.
- Help develop a strong team by mentoring and coaching team members.
- Oversee the use of the maintenance system to handle scheduled and unexpected repairs quickly.
- Help manage situations that could harm business, safety, the environment, or equipment.
- Participate in site improvement projects based on business needs.
- Support improvement and change efforts within the team and across the site.
- Take part in meetings to track and improve performance, ensuring engineering work is effective and issues are addressed quickly.
- Keep management informed and escalate important issues when needed.
- Use problem-solving methods to fix and prevent issues and inefficiencies.
- Finish all assigned work and training required by the company
The Candidate:
- Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment
- Qualified in an Engineering subject
- Ability to work in a team
- Happy to work 4 on 4 off (days only)
Package:
- Salary between 26,500 - 37,000
- 4 on 4 off shift (4 days on, 4 off)
- 22 days Holiday
