Sitecore Lead Developer - Leading global EdTech - UK, Remote (occasional visits to HQ - Once a Month)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sitecore Lead Developer to manage a squad of 3-6 developers and oversee a portfolio of around 100 sites, while staying hands-on with technical Sitecore projects. You’ll lead the team, drive technical decisions, mentor junior developers, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-quality Sitecore solutions. You will have a strong focus on Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and engineering best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a development squad (3-6 developers) to deliver Sitecore projects.
  • Oversee a portfolio of approximately 100 sites, ensuring high standards of performance, security, and scalability.
  • Stay hands-on with Sitecore development, contributing to coding, testing, and architectural decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies, TDD, and engineering best practices
  • Drive technical standards, ensuring code quality and efficient, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Work with global teams to meet project timelines and ensure alignment across regions.
  • Stay current with Sitecore and industry trends, driving continuous improvements.


Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Sitecore Lead Developer, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Sitecore CMS, .NET, and C#.
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies, TDD, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of websites and delivering complex Sitecore projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
