Applications Engineer

Market leaders in the design and manufacture of industrial steam boilers and other large products is seeking an Applications Engineer to review and design steam, thermal fluid, thermal oxidisers and process air heating systems to lead to the generation of detail technical and commercial sales proposals. The Applications Engineer will hold a minimum of HNC or equivalent in either Chemical, Mechanical or a Process engineering discipline and have experience in a similar industry or manufacturer of relevant equipment. This role is office-based. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged Key Responsibilities: * Create technical and commercially attractive quotations through assessing customer requirements and the use of in-house software to select key components and equipment to meet a specified process need. * This will include system flow and pipe work pressure drop calculations to ensure the accurate application of the Company’s range of products. * Complete project engineering checks and prepare commissioning specifications, along with providing pre- and post- sales applications support to the Company’s external sales and internal engineering functions. * Carry out from time to time the role of a Contract Engineer to balance the demands within the departments and to gain familiarity with the procedures and requirements of the department. Knowledge, skills and qualifications: Essential: * Minimum of HNC or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical or a Process Engineering discipline * Experience in a compatible industry or a manufacturer of related equipment * Candidates qualified to Graduate/HNC level with less experience but with clear potential will also be considered Desirables: * Has knowledge on electronic burner management controls Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 DOE (occasional OT) Benefits: Pension, life Insurance, hols 25+8, income protection scheme, and more
