Quality Manager (Precision Engineering)

Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is recruiting for a Quality Manager for our client in the Bridgwater area. Our client specialises in high-quality precision CNC machined parts for the aerospace, motorsport, defence and commercial bases. As the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in the business's operations and success.
The Role:
You will be a key member of the management team and be a key part of the decision-making for the business. You will oversee the Quality Team to ensure that products and processes meet the requirements including AS9100. Responsibilities include but arent limited to:
Manage, train and mentor the quality team and ensure a good level of morale is maintained.
Be the voice of the customer within the business.
Maintain and update as necessary the quality management system (QMS). Comprising policies, quality manuals, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Be the first point of contact for quality concerns for customers
Review contracts from customers and NDAs as and when required.
Conduct internal and supplier audits.
Host certification body and customer audits.
Maintain regulatory compliance within the quality aspects of the business.
Arrange and attend the management meetings , management review meetings and other appropriate meetings to support the business and customers.
Maintain the supplier, internal and customer non-conformance system.
Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
Ensure NCRs are investigated, completed and returned to customers.
Sign off /Complete First Article to AS9102, PPAP and inspection reports (ISIR).
Ensure adherence to agreed plans and procedures and adherence to KPIs.
Conduct reject analysis for internal and external rejects.
Carry out root cause analysis and complete RCCA reports.
Conduct inspection of externally supplied materials, goods and parts when needed.
Use of metrology equipment when required
The Candidate:
Time served Quality Manager with a background in precision engineering (Aerospace, defence, automotive or similar).
Experienced with supplier development and interaction
AS9100 D Lead Auditor (IRQA)
Experienced with writing processes and work instructions that are compliant to AS9100 and customer requirements
Sabre 4 trained
Creative thinker and solution provider
Ability to make key decisions
Good time management skills
Must be able to pass BPSS security clearance (will be paid for)

Monday to Thursday, 8 am 5 pm, Friday 8 am 2.30 pm
