Senior Hardware Engineer

Main duties include;Digital/analogue Electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production. FPGA VHDL preferable.System architectural design and concepts.Schematic and board layout using Altium Designer CAD tool.Prototype build, test, and fault findingSpecification and requirements capture.Hands on soldering, fault finding.EMC and electrical safety compliance support.Cost Model generation, Rohs analysis and compilation.oversight of junior engineersIdeal candidates will have the following;Digital, Analogue design experience.Embedded Programming Experience in ‘C’, FPGA VHDLC++, .net, C#, java, Python, or algorithm development an advantageFamiliarity with CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred)Some exposure to EMC compliance design techniques, accompanying equipment to test sites can be expected. Knowledge of safety and EMC standards advantageous.Clear concise report writing with good attention to detail.Ability to take on other systems elements within a project such as thermals, optics etc an advantage.Competency with Microsoft Office products.Willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.Good presentation and communication skills.Ideally 8+ years design experience. Exceptional candidates with lower experience will be considered if evidence of outstanding ability can be demonstrated.Ability to client face, conveying technical information in an easy-to-understand confident manner.Hands on, self-motivated, willing to learn and help evolve the R&D department and build an expert team.
