Our client, a leading medical research institute focused on tackling the world's biggest health challenges, is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team. About Our Client: My client is a renowned medical research institute that collaborates with prestigious universities worldwide. With projects spanning approximately 50 countries, our client is at the forefront of clinical trials, health policy, and capacity-building initiatives. Their groundbreaking work includes identifying better treatments for conditions like stroke and heart disease, developing innovative community-led programmes, and creating technologies that save lives globally. The Role: As a Finance Assistant, you will provide essential financial support to our client's research group. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and collaborate with colleagues in Operations, HR, and IT. Your responsibilities will include transaction processing, maintenance of account payable/receivable and bank reconciliation, payroll processing, and VAT returns. Key Responsibilities: Process transactions and maintain accurate records Reconcile ledger balances and manage supplier payments Support payroll processing and VAT returns Assist with staff expense management Credit card reconciliation Generate debtor and inter-company invoices Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient finance operations Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Relevant university degree or progress towards professional accounting qualification(s) Exposure to inter-company transactions and exchange rate conversions Proficiency in computerised accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel Meticulous attention to detail and accurate data input Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal Ability to work independently and with staff at all levels of the organisation Flexible and adaptable in a changing work environment Initiative-driven and logical thinker Join our client's dedicated team and be part of ground-breaking research that changes lives.
