Field Service Engineer - Mechanical/Electrical Bias required

Midlands - Birmingham, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham

£35,000 - £42,000 + bonus

Home-based door to overtime

Vehicle provided

Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a drive to keep production lines running smoothly? Our packaging partner in the North of England is seeking a talented Field Service Engineer with either a mechanical or electrical background to join their dynamic team.

What you will do:

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of packaging equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in packaging machinery
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on proper equipment usage
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed documentation

What you will have:

  • Field Service Experience: Hands-on technical experience with electro-mechanical systems, ideally within the packaging industry or a similar field. This includes roles such as electrical or electronic technician, field service repair of machinery, or maintenance repair.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fault diagnosis, particularly with PLC logic, and experience working with machine and electrical parts, components, and assembly
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a field service role, preferably in the packaging industry
  • Strong electrical/mechanical technical skills, including the ability to read blueprints and schematics Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the region
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
