The Role: Our client seeks an experienced Database Engineer to strengthen their Platform team, playing a key role in developing and optimizing the platforms data architecture. This role focuses on automation, cloud-based solutions, and ensuring seamless multi-tenancy in a cloud environment, with extensive data ingestion from on-premise devices. Responsibilities: - Design and deploy robust, cloud-based database solutions using AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. - Work closely with development teams to integrate and automate database services, ensuring data consistency and resilience. - Optimize data models for storage efficiency and high-performance access, leveraging tools like Alembic for version control and migration. - Contribute to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, enhancing data durability. - Enhance database performance through tuning, indexing, and normalization, proactively suggesting optimizations. - Implement and enforce strong database security measures, including encryption and access control. - Design and maintain databases that align with cross-functional team needs and project requirements. - Adhere to best practices in version control, documentation, and code reviews, fostering continuous improvement. - Monitor database performance and resolve issues using observability tools. - Stay current with database technology trends and drive discussions on their potential integration into the tech stack. Ideal Candidate: - Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - 5+ years of cloud-based database engineering experience. - Expertise in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, along with data modeling for SQL and NoSQL databases. - Strong background in automation, migration tools (e.g., Alembic), and database performance optimization. - Proficient in database security, backup, and recovery strategies. - Excellent team collaboration and communication skills, translating requirements into effective solutions. - Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and maintaining high-reliability systems.
