Assistant Accountant

Your new company One of northern Ireland's biggest and most successful food production companies are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant. The company are rooted in history, boast decades of experience in the industry and have become a trusted household name. Your new role Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting tasks and routine finance functions whilst supporting the Senior Management Team. * Take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to year end standard and within reporting deadlines for company accountant; * Carry out variance analysis v budget and investigate/explain variances; * Preparation of KPI reports on a weekly and monthly basis; * Assist with the preparation of monthly projections and annual budgets; * Responsibility for compliance (VAT & statutory returns); * Assist development & implementation of Management Information Systems and financial IT systems. What you'll need to succeed The Person: * Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) or Part qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or QBE accountant; * Proficient in Word and MS Outlook with Intermediate to advanced Excel ability; * Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise workload; * Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills; * Be able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels including senior management in a professional manner. Preference will be given to candidates with * Experience of using an ERP system; * Experience in analysing production variances.
