Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: England, Greater London, HayesJob Type: Contract, Full-TimePrimary Industry: Education and TrainingSalary: £77 - £95 Per dayBenefits: Plus CPDSkills: Teaching Assistant, SEND, LSA, BSL, DYSLEXIAJob Duties: Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and educational activitiesAssisting with planning and preparing teaching materialsProviding one-on-one support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)Assisting students with their learning, including reading, writing, and numeracyImplementing behaviour management strategies and maintaining classroom disciplineSupervising students during break times and off-site activitiesSupporting students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexiaAssisting with the use of assistive technologies and adaptive equipmentCollaborating with other teaching staff and professionals to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs)Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting to the classroom teacher Required Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathematicsRecognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathematicsTeaching Assistant qualification (preferred) Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar roleExperience providing support to students with special educational needs and disabilitiesKnowledge of behaviour management techniques Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational systemsFamiliarity with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexiaAbility to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardiansProficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) (preferred) Preferred Qualifications: Higher-level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualificationAdditional qualifications in specific areas, such as dyslexia support or British Sign Language (BSL) Working Conditions: The Teaching Assistant will primarily work within a school setting, supporting the classroom teacher and students. The role may involve working with students with diverse learning needs and behaviours. The Teaching Assistant may be required to attend training sessions and participate in professional development activities.
